15 varsity-letter-winning girls put their hearts in the ring to become one of D-E’s best softball teams. The team had a fantastic batting average of .366 and an overall record of 13-2. They won the Metropolitan Athletic Association of Private Schools (MAAPS) tournament in both 1983 and 1984. In the 1984 championship game, the team won the tournament with a score of 24-4 against Staten Island. The team lost to Mount St. Mary’s in the final game of the New Jersey State tournament.
