Ricky Bawa played 2nd Singles on the D-E Boys Tennis team that won a State Group Title (along with a State Sectional Title) and only lost in a nail-biter of a final in 2001, finishing No. 2 overall in the state that year and No. 1 for non-public schools.

During his senior year (2004), Ricky Bawa led the Varsity Boys’ Tennis team as Captain, was the Bergen County Group I-II 1st Singles Champion, and won D-E’s Charles J. Hardy Award, which recognizes a senior who has excelled in ability and achievement in their athletic career. As a junior, Ricky earned D-E’s Michael Glowski Award for exemplifying selfless participation, commitment, and devotion to team sports.

Ricky graduated from the Stevens Institute of Technology, where he was a Men’s Tennis Singles and Doubles Player from 2004 to 2008. In 2005, he was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year, and in 2007, he was named Skyline Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Year.
